My story
BACK IN TIME
I grew up as an only child in Siersburg, Germany.
My mother, like most mothers of the time, was a hard-working, loving housewife. My father was the breadwinner for the family and worked as a construction worker.
After my humanities degree, I started my career in the Army.
In November 1981, I had set my sights on buying a special Christmas present for my then girlfriend, but since my Army pay wasn’t much, I had started looking for an extra income.
When I set my sights on something, for me it is not a question of whether I am going to reach my goal but when I am going to reach my goal.
Not much later, I came across a job ad in the newspaper to earn a penny on the side in the financial sector.
Soon a whole new world opened up for me. A world where personal development was central. I was surrounded by people who were each chasing their own dreams, and shortly thereafter I met my mentor Mr. Knoll. Mr. Knoll played an important role in my life and gave me the foundation of my winner’s mindset.
Where I initially knocked on the door to earn an extra penny, in just 16 years, I grew to the highest position within the organization where I managed more than 1,000 financial advisors and had built a collective client portfolio of around and both 300,000 clients.
Such growth I could never have achieved alone, and I owe my success in part to the young leaders I have seen grow under my reign.
In early 2018, the opportunity was presented to me to build a new organization in Belgium for Willemot member of the OVB Group.
I am currently 63 years old. For many, this is a near retirement age, but if you are doing something you love day-in and day-out, why stop?
I get my energy from working with young people every day and guiding them on their own path to success.
some achievements
Material realizations simply act as benchmarks to measure personal growth.
My greatest satisfaction comes from my team’s successes.
20+ millionaires created
30+ people financially independent mentored
1000+ people inspired to chase their dreams
A collective customer portfolio of more than 350 000 customers
Learning to speak 4 additional languages over the course of my career
Being able to provide my daughter and grandchildren with an abundant life
Idyllic country retreat in Italy
International team in full expansion
Enjoy the ride
It’s great to set goals for yourself, but in the meantime, don’t forget to enjoy the ride!
Often I see people set goals that are very ambitious, but forget to celebrate their interim successes and pay little to no attention to those very close to their hearts.
A good entrepreneur is balanced. Finding that balance is a process. But importantly, you are looking for this. You get what you focus yourself on.
Family is very important to me. Along my career, I am proud grandfather of 2 grandsons and father of a wonderful daughter.
THE GOOD LIFE
Although I don’t throw my money through windows and doors, I can certainly enjoy luxuries.
I like to spend my time in warm places.
That may be in luxurious hotels or in a big villa where we stay with some friends.
Italy is without a doubt a country that has stolen my heart.
15 years ago I bought a beautiful piece of land in Naples to escape the busy life here in Belgium for a while.
But it doesn’t all have to be so extravagant.
A nice wine in good company with a delicious Italian or Thai meal, always bring me to seventh heaven.
